Although it has a Best Western
affiliation, this is a family run hotel. It's in a 19th
century palace in the heart of the historic center of Cuneo, close to
the Cathedral, on the Piazza Tancredi Galimberti. The whole area is
a pedestrian zone, with elegant arcades and pretty walks. They
include a free breakfast and free wifi, and parking is available by
reservation for 10E per night. 50 rooms.
Hotel Palazzo Lovera € Moderate pricing
Set in a historic building in the
center, the amenities here include a fitness center and two
well-regarded restaurants on the premises. The staff is welcoming,
and willing to accommodate special needs of bike tours, as well. The
breakfast is remarkable, there's wifi access in public areas and some

B&B Contrada Dei Giardini € Economical pricing
Located in a baroque building in the
historic center, this two room B & B is carefully attended to,

station. The design is modern and airy, there's a bar and a library,

Centrally located in the historic
center of Saluzzo, the hotel is in a converted 15th
century convent. Right at the top of town, it has some good views,
and some rooms look out on the lovely cloister. There's an on site
restaurant, and the free breakfast is served in the old monastery
kitchen. Wifi is free, and on site parking is free although somewhat
limited, so you might want to call ahead. They'll provide a pass to
the ZTL (zone of limited traffic) so that you can drive right in. 13

Hotel Antiche Mura € Economical pricing
This too is in the historic center, and
is in a 14th c. building. The rooms are spacious, some
with balconies and garden views. The narrow cobbled streets are
quiet at night, and the staff goes the extra mile, providing
particularly good personal service. Breakfast and wifi are free,

Hotel Antico Podere Propano € Economical pricing
A ten minute walk from the center of
town, this hotel has the feel of a good B & B, and is located in
an old farm complex from 1525. Many rooms have some antique
features, such as beamed or arched ceilings. There are geese and a

The Palazzo is a 19th
century building located near the cathedral, about 10 minutes from
the train station. The rooms are individual and elegant, with wooden
floors and Persian rugs. Parking is available on site for 10 E a
day, and should be reserved. Wifi and breakfast are included. Ask
for a room in the back with a balcony for a airy, tranquil stay. 9

Just a 5 minute drive, or a nice 20
minute walk from the center of Alba, this pleasant hotel offers free
private parking and breakfast. Most rooms have a private garden or
balcony, and it's peaceful and quiet, with a friendly staff. Wifi is

Location, location, location. This B &
B is right in the middle of town, near some of the best restaurants.
There's an inner garden, tastefully furnished rooms, breakfast is

On the edge of town about ½ mile from
the cathedral, this modern hotel offers a fitness center and a

Where to Stay
Population 871,000 but with a larger metro area population. Torino is sophisticated and varied, full of history and tradition yet changing rapidly in perfect Italian paradox. The airport is connected by train and bus to the city center. There is metro rail service, as well as subway system in partial operation and expanding. Driving in the city center is not advised and/or impossible, but driving into or out of the city is not especially difficult and the metro area is almost circumnavigated by autostrade.

In a lovely 17th century building, this B & B has been redone with sleek contemporary furniture. Apparently this was originally a house built around a courtyard, and now offers accommodations that are pleasant and very centrally located. The rooms are large, the included breakfast is rather sugary, but you can request eggs. Off site public parking, free wifi. 5 rooms.
